The month of September was a whirlwind of activity for ReliaBid. ReliaBid's management spent most of the month on the road, visiting eBay sellers and drop-shops, and speaking at industry conferences. Most notably, ReliaBid CEO Jonathan Rosen was asked to speak at both the Southern California Etailers United Group conference, and also at PESA's Fall Summit. ReliaBid also announced the launch of multiple new offerings, covered in this newsletter.

    ReliaBid continues to fight online auction fraud through the recent announcement of their latest service offering aimed at defeating chargeback fraud. With a growing number of sellers seeing their revenues stolen or frozen by payment services due to chargebacks, ReliaBid has stepped up to protect online auction businesses and help businesses complete even more sales than before. Starting soon, ReliaBid will go a step further and help sellers to collect on those who take unfair advantage of buyer protections through payment systems.

    With the new interface set to go live within the next few weeks, the ReliaBid solution for non-paying bidders will automatically include chargeback protection.  What this means for online sellers is that as long as the ReliaBid seal is inserted into their auction listings, not only will we protect against unpaid items, but we will go a step further and help sellers to collect on chargebacks.

    Changes to the interface will allow for a collection to be initiated against a person who commits chargeback fraud.  This type of collection will be differentiated from an unpaid item and follow a different collection process, yet still bear the threat of credit reporting.  Absent from the chargeback collections process will be the optional restocking fee.  Details of the collections process and changes to the collections interface will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

    PESA Fall Summit Sponsored by ReliaBid

    ReliaBid is proud to have had the opportunity to sponsor this year’s Professional eBay Sellers Alliance (PESA) Summit held September 20-22.  Held in San Francisco, this event signified the coming together of over three hundred high-volume sellers from the online auction industry to share their knowledge, experiences and discuss the future of the industry.

    As title sponsor of the event, ReliaBid was fortunate to network with and receive feedback from these influential individuals and gain their insight into the direction they see the industry taking within the next few years. 

    Amongst those presenting at the conference was ReliaBid CEO Jonathan Rosen who was asked to speak on the topic of "Building Trust-Based Strategies" for online auction businesses.

    Other hot topics that arose during the conference included the desire of sellers to expand their businesses to other platforms and push more of their sales to personal website storefronts.

    The Distinguished Clients Program
